How Light Wash is Too Light Wash?

The perfect pair of jeans can be incredibly difficult to find. There are endless factors that contribute to this challenge; fit, length, stretch, lack of stretch, thickness, pockets, zippers, buttons, and wash, to name a few.

In this post, we discuss wash, and ask ourselves: What is the right light wash for summer?

When a friend was making her annual summer denim purchase (as many of us do), she began second-guessing the wash of a certain pair of Zara jeans, and the question arose: should she have gotten the light wash?

She sent me pictures of the two pairs she was considering before purchasing. Both are in the light wash family, but the latter, lighter pair has more of a yellowed tinge.

In an attempt to quell her pensiveness, I told her no. “Even for summer?” she asked. Yes, even for summer. Here are said jeans:

Said friend stuck to the first pair, and was happy with her decision once they came in. A friendly reminder that just because summer is approaching, it doesn’t mean you are obligated to the lightest wash jeans they make in the style that you want!
