‘How Mini?’: The Perfect Black Mini Skirt

Welcome to the first installment of “How Mini?”: the fashion advice blog in which I pull from real conversations with friends asking for my advice on where to find a particular piece, how to style a certain outfit, or what my take is on a red carpet look - and I give an answer. Who knows? You might just be asking the same questions! It isn’t easy being the token stylist friend - but someone’s got to do it! You say skirt I say, “how mini?”

Our first case comes from across the Pacific - my friend is looking for a black, fitted mini skirt to wear on nights out when she makes her return to New York. To which I say, “easy!”, overconfidently. Truthfully, the more basic the request for an article of clothing, the more difficult it can be to find exactly what it is you are looking for.

With a budget, silhouette, color, and size in mind, I begin my search.

As much as I try to resist adding to the already overstuffed pockets of one Mr. Bezos, I can’t help but peruse Amazon. Much to my dismay, I find a great option. For $23, the skirt has great reviews and fits the exact criteria I am working with.

To quell the impending guilt I have about suggesting an Amazon brand (although I am no angel when it comes to ordering off the site - do as I say, not as I do) I continue my quest for a secondary option. I settle on an equally affordable, slightly more tailored find from Asos. Send.
